Free Air Pressure in Birmingham
Have your tyre pressures checked and adjusted for free at our Birmingham garage.
Sona Tyres offers free tyre air pressure checks and inflation at Unit B, 1200 Coventry Road, Birmingham B25 8DA. If you are unsure whether your tyres are correctly inflated, book a check and we can compare them with the vehicle manufacturer's recommended pressures. Choose an available appointment online, or call 0121 389 4396 if you have a tyre warning light or repeated air loss.
The right pressure depends on your vehicle
There is no single pressure that suits every car. The correct settings are usually in the vehicle handbook or on a label in the door opening or fuel flap. Front and rear tyres may need different pressures, and the recommended settings may change when carrying more passengers or luggage. Bring the vehicle handbook if you are unsure about the label.
The maximum pressure marked on a tyre sidewall is not the everyday setting for your car. We use the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation rather than guessing a figure from tyre size alone. Tell us if the vehicle will be heavily loaded so that the appropriate recommendation can be checked.
When to check tyre pressures
Check pressures regularly and before a long journey. TyreSafe recommends checking at least once a month and before longer trips. Underinflation can affect handling, increase wear and heat build-up, and use more fuel; too much pressure can also affect the contact with the road and wear pattern.
Pressure readings are best checked when tyres are cold, before driving or after they have had time to cool. Driving warms the air inside the tyre and changes the reading. Tell us about your journey to the garage; do not release air from a warm tyre just to match a cold-pressure figure.
Repeated pressure loss needs more than a top-up
If the same tyre regularly needs air, there may be a puncture, a leaking valve or another problem at the wheel. Inflation alone does not repair a leak. A tyre pressure monitoring warning also needs attention; a pressure check does not promise a sensor repair or a reset for every vehicle.
The pressure check and inflation are free. Leak investigation, puncture repair, valve changes and replacement tyres are separate and may cost extra. Do not drive on a flat or visibly damaged tyre to get a top-up: stop safely and arrange assistance instead.
Call or visit Sona Tyres on Coventry Road
Our published garage hours are Monday to Sunday, 8:00am–8:00pm. This is a workshop service in Birmingham, not mobile inflation or a roadside call-out. Select an available appointment time when booking; call us to discuss a warning light or repeated air loss.
If you also want advice on worn tread or visible damage, ask about our free tyre check. If you need to buy new tyres, call for current options and a quote. Online new-tyre ordering is under maintenance; fitting bookings for tyres you already own are a separate paid service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the pressure check and air top-up free?
Yes. The tyre air pressure check and inflation at Sona Tyres are free. Repairs, replacement valves and tyres are not included in the free service.
What pressure should my tyres be?
Use the vehicle manufacturer's recommended settings in the handbook or vehicle label. They can differ front to rear and with vehicle load; there is no universal PSI value.
Will adding air fix a slow puncture?
No. Adding air does not fix the cause of a leak. Repeated pressure loss needs assessment; a puncture repair is possible only if inspection confirms that the tyre can be repaired safely.
Can I book free air pressure online?
Yes. Select an available date and time through the online booking form. Repeated air loss may need separate leak investigation or repair, which can carry a charge.
